Sport
Sport is an important part of life at Rochester Secondary College, promoting teamwork, resilience, school pride and physical wellbeing.
Our program encourages all students to get involved, whether they’re striving for competition or simply enjoying being active with their peers.
House Sports Program
All students belong to one of our three house teams:
- Acacia (Yellow)
- Banksia (Blue)
- Grevillea (Red)
These houses compete throughout the year in major whole-school events including:
- Swimming Carnival
- Athletics Carnival
- Cross Country
These events are fun, inclusive and full of energy, with participation and house spirit celebrated as much as performance.
Interschool Sport
Rochester Secondary College proudly participates in a wide range of interschool sporting competitions through our strong connection with School Sport Victoria (SSV).
Our school regularly fields competitive teams across a range of age groups and sporting codes, with pathways to division, regional and state level competition. Whether it’s through our house carnivals or interschool sport, there’s something for everyone — from the casual participant to the competitive athlete. All students are encouraged to get involved and experience the many benefits of school sport.
