Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a globally recognised program that empowers young people to discover their full potential. At Rochester Secondary College, students have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious award as part of our extra-curricular program.
The Award encourages students to set personal challenges and build lifelong skills across four key areas:
- Voluntary Service – Giving back to the community through meaningful service.
- Physical Recreation – Improving health and wellbeing through regular physical activity.
- Skill Development – Exploring personal interests and building new abilities.
- Adventurous Journeys – Planning and undertaking challenging outdoor expeditions as part of a team.
Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award fosters resilience, leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of accomplishment. It is an enriching experience that supports personal growth and enhances future study, work, and life opportunities.
