To celebrate National Science Week the local Grade 6 students from our Feeder Schools: Rochester Primary, St Josephs PS, OLSH, Elmore PS, Colbinabbin PS, Nanneella PS and Lockington Consolidated participated in a range of different Physics based activities. Each activity was taught by a group of students from the Year 10 Space and Motion class.
The Grade 6 students learnt:
- How light travels
- How to make a catapult
- UV beads and what is a hologram?
- What are Mexican jumping beans?
- How air pressure can drive a Lego car
- Dissected a cow’s eye and discovered how sound waves can blow out a candle.
The grade 6 students had a lot of fun and are looking forward to Year 7 Science in 2019. Well done to the Year 10 students who taught each activity and successfully passed on their Science knowledge to the grade 6 students.
